Our Childhood - Bara /Singda Dokan........................
We all Odia's have our "Bara/Singda Dokan" cherished from childhood...
Going there had been a customary just to get our of home and hangout with freinds, or just a pitstop before any drive or just a get away to avoid Sunday breakfast at home...
Whatever may be the reason " tike tike jalakhia hei jau " means let's have a little bit so that we can eat more later....ha ha ha...
Yes and for we Odia's everything revolves around food whether it's birthday, wedding, beginning....
Bara (made from urad dal) / Singda (Samosas filled with chopped skin potatoes NOT MASHED) served with piping hot Ghuguni and green chillies....muching on them on a sal leaf bowl is a real pleasure in life....and when it's topped with the quintessential Chennapoda...it's a heavenly feeling that can't be expressed in words...
As we all grow in our lives, we realize how unpredictable life can be.....
There is a need to "appreciate" all small things around us..
Cheers....
Jai Jagannatha.

Really nice. Reminds me of my college days.
